Flappy Bird—something about it just sticks in my head. Maybe it’s the way it exploded onto our phones all those years ago. Remember that? You couldn’t escape it! I swear it was, like, on every screen everywhere. But then, poof—gone. Anyway, it’s back. Yep, Android users through the Epic Games Store get to flap again. Funny thing, no crypto stuff this time. There was some weird release on Telegram, but that’s old news.
So, this Flappy Bird comeback—it’s all ads and in-app purchases. You can buy helmets for your flappy little birdie. And nope, no Web3 stuff. Flappy Bird Publishing made a big fuss about how it’ll stick to the basics. Nothing funny with crypto. Somehow, they were all about making it a community-owned web game before. I guess they did a complete 180.
Oh, and they tried to do something with crypto wallets and the TON blockchain earlier. No idea how that was supposed to work, but I’m kinda glad they ditched it. What’s the deal with everyone trying to crypto-ify everything, anyway?
There’s some chatter about new stuff coming to the game—like, characters and worlds. Keeps things a bit fresh, I guess. But the original guy, Dong Nguyen? Yeah, he’s not involved in this. Seems he’s totally out of the loop and the cash flow. A group snapped up the trademark. I guess when something’s abandoned, it’s fair game to pick up and dust off. Anyway, it’ll be interesting to see if people get hooked all over again. Or maybe it’ll just fade like last time. Who knows?
