Huh, so the folks at Neat Corp, those VR wizards who cooked up the whole Budget Cuts thing, are at it again. They’ve got this new gig, Crossings, and it’s all about melee, spells, and the Norse afterlife. Yeah, you heard right. Like, imagine swinging axes and tossing spells around like yesterday’s news. Cool, right?
So, this game, it’s a roguelite—whatever that means. They say the world’s always changing, kind of like my mood swings. One minute you’re here, next you’re somewhere else, battling it out with trolls and draugr. Sound fun? Or maybe terrifying. I dunno. Depends on how you feel about trolls, I guess. Personally, not a fan.
But hey, you’re never really solo. You bump into these other lost souls. No chit-chat, just vibes. You sling spells, block with blades, and hope you’re not messing up too bad. Seriously, this game is full-on Viking. They’ve got axes, clubs—you know, the usual undead-fighting gear. One weapon’s even called the ‘Tooth of Nör,’ which sounds metal as heck. It’s all very mystical, if that’s your jam.
They paint quite the picture too. Something about waking up in a land that’s not quite dead but definitely not alive. Gives you the chills, doesn’t it? You’re supposed to master combat by, I dunno, studying your enemies. The devs say you’ve got to read these guys like your morning news. Block here, dodge there, and hopefully not get whacked into the middle of next week.
You can choose whether you want to go it alone or buddy up. Every “crossing” you make leaves a mark. On what, though? Reality? Your sanity? Either way, it sounds like deep stuff.
Oh, and here’s a teaser—they still haven’t given an exact release date. But hey, you can wishlist Crossings, like, right now if you’re curious. They’re dropping a demo during Steam Next Fest, October 14th to 21st. It’s just a slice but, who knows, might be enough to get you hooked?
So, are you in? Or do trolls just not fit into your weekend plans?✨
