Alright, so, I finally got to try out this new flying game — Stunt Flyer, right? It’s like, you start on the PlayStation 5 and just zoom into this whole open-world vibe. Which, I guess, is kinda refreshing, or not, depending on your mood. Anyway, they’ve got these wild maps, like, um, Gloster Map, Captain’s Map, and something called Nimbus Map. Honestly, the names are kinda cool — gave me a chuckle at least.
Oh, and you get this roster of characters. Let’s see… Jimmy Jetstream, Sophie Stunts (I mean, seriously, who comes up with these?), Sky Captain, Schultz, Mayor Gloster. There’s more, like Pirate Queen — which, why not, right?
From the get-go, there’s a tutorial — can’t escape those nowadays. It shows you the ropes: how to, you know, avoid crashing into mountains or whatever. Left stick makes you zoom, R1 speeds you up, L1 slows you down. You’ll need those barrel rolls too, L2, R2 — left, right, you get the picture. Honestly, it’s like trying to pat your head and rub your belly at the same time. Or maybe that’s just me.
Wait, did I mention the trophies? Yeah, so, it doesn’t give you that fancy Platinum trophy, which is like, c’mon, it’s PlayStation 5! But you still get those Bronze, Silver, and Gold ones. Collecting coins, y’know, the usual stuff. Kind of weirdly satisfying.
And, wow, 40 missions to crack through. Sounds like a lot, but then you blink and you’re halfway done, just flying through rings, dodging trees, and — oh, co-op mode is a thing too. Grab a friend, more fun, fewer crashes.
Plunked down fifteen bucks for this — not the worst deal. And if you’re retro or something, there’s a PS4 version hanging out for the same price. Can’t complain.
In the end, it’s this weird arcade-y mishmash that works if you need a break from reality. Not groundbreaking but definitely a solid time-killer.
Oh, almost forgot! All this rambling’s thanks to the fact that Ultimate Games sent over a copy. Cheers for that.
