Oh, hey there. Yup, it’s me again. So, after venting some serious steam playing The Last of Us Part II—yeah, that was intense—I’m thinking it’s time to chill a bit. Time to repair and reconnect, or whatever. And who better for that than Sam Porter Bridges? Seriously, this dude’s got work cut out for him.
Honestly, at first, Death Stranding was kind of… a head-scratcher. I mean, took me a couple of rounds to start getting it—and I’m still not totally sure I do. But somehow, that’s part of the charm, right? Totally looking forward to more of Kojima’s mind-bending, slightly-too-weird stuff in a new chapter. It’s weird—like really deliciously weird.
The first game, though, really grabbed hold of some big, real-life themes. Like, human connection and that whole extinction entity thing. Who knew trying to outsmart death could be such a mixed bag, right? It’s like exactly what I need right now, with everything so messed up both personally and globally.
Oh, and Kojima—he had to go and rewrite Death Stranding 2 post-pandemic, didn’t he? Now it’s all about questioning, “Should We Have Connected?” Kinda makes me wonder too. Not sure if Kojima will throw me the answer I’m hoping for, but diving into his universe to puzzle it out is gonna be interesting. — Claire Jackson
Alrighty, that’s a wrap on our weekend picks! Happy Pride, folks, and happy gaming!
