Zenless Zone Zero Marks Its First Anniversary Once More with a New Story Chapter

The last, like, month or so has been a whirlwind for Zenless Zone Zero. Seriously, since the game hit the Xbox scene and dropped that much-anticipated 2.0 update, it’s been non-stop. Folks in the know — those who’ve been glued to this sci-fi RPG — understand that, technically, the real anniversary doesn’t roll around till July. Still, who’s nitpicking? Everyone was hyped for that big update and the launch of a new story arc.

Anyway, zoom to today, July 4th, and here we are: the one-year mark. Feels surreal. HoYoverse, not missing a beat, hits us with another update tease. Update 2.1’s out there, not live yet, just a sneak peek — we have to wait till July 16. It’s called The Impending Crash of Waves. Sounds dramatic? Yep, it introduces a new faction and sprinkles in two fresh areas. We’ve got the Spook Shack faction — which feels like it vibes perfectly with the watery theme — plus Sailume Bay and Fantasy Resort.

So, Season 2 Chapter 2 kicks off big time here. Sailume Bay takes the spotlight for most of the action, though Fantasy Resort is where summer fun and events will be at.

Oh, and new Agents? Obviously. Meet Ukinami Yuzuha, a total powerhouse as an S-Rank Physical Support Agent, with this bizarrely cute sidekick, Kama, who chucks candy bombs at foes. Then there’s Alice Thymefield, who’s all about speed and sword skills, charging up her Blade Etiquette to unleash some epic moves.

Wait, there’s more! Alongside update 2.1 comes Miss Esme, the latest S-Rank Bangboo addition. And don’t fret, the Void Hunter Miyabi and Yanagi make a comeback, bringing their frost and electric vibes, respectively.
