Ugh. So, blame the exhaustion? Nah, that’s too easy. Let’s put it on the leaky ceiling above the News Editor’s desk. I swear, first week of Q3 always feels like wandering through a fog—Canada Day, July 4th… Are they really to blame for this slo-mo week?
Switch 2 isn’t dropping anything cool. Like, zilch. Just some throwbacks from Irem and this weird Slender thing. Oh, and a third sequel to something I can’t even recall the second of. Anyway, this week just feels like it’s waiting for a real party with Super Mario Strikers or whatever they’re calling it in Europe—Mario Smash Football? Yup, same game, fancier accent.
I swear, shadowdrop city should be closed for the week. Tranquility, please. But wait, what did we miss last week? Oh right. Taito’s Crazy Balloon… which zoomed straight by. Ever heard of EggConsole? Random name, but at least you don’t have to decipher Japanese to play. Thank goodness.
North America releases incoming:
- Irem Collection Volume 3 is up Tuesday. $$24.99/CA$34.99, yawn…
- Slender Threads, doing its thing for $19.99, like a ghost peeking from curtains.
- Poly Bridge 3, trying to bridge boredom, $19.99. Seriously.
- No Heroes Here 2, playing the sequel game for $19.90 come Tuesday.
- And the rest? Dead of Darkness, Dragon Eclipse, more Aery… you get it.
Some cost less than a decent coffee date. Others sound like they forgot they were making a game. Whatever. Seriously, whoever’s handling the names should lay off the espresso. Oh, and those crazy low-price drone tours from Korea? Just a buck! Beats Netflix scrolling.
Sales? Right, big Nintendo summer sale wave. Xenoblade’s getting cut, among others till July 10. Don’t ask me about the best deals—my wallet’s hiding in shame from last month.
And across the pond:
Pretty much mirror city to North America this week. Slight currency switcheroo, but same old names gracing Europe’s list. Though seeing those Euro and pound signs makes it look way posher. Tuesday’s bringing the noise with Irem Volume 3, and we’ve got Poly Bridge doing its jig, along with others trying to spice up the mediocre lineup. RememPair, Dead of Darkness… Is the fog clearing, or is it just me?
Japan?
They’ve got their hands on Slender Threads too, and Dead of Darkness—playing catch-up like the rest of us. But hey, their lineup feels like a zen garden compared to the chaos elsewhere. Even found time for learning games about proverbs and kanji tests. Practical, right?
Whew—I’m out of breath just thinking about all this. So, is the week looking slow or is it just me blanking out, staring into space while the coffee cools without me? Probably both. Wait, where was I? Oh yeah—time to distract with games, till the real action kicks off next week. Maybe. Who knows.
