Oh man, I stumbled across this news about some game, right? “Grit and Valor – 1949.” Yeah, so it’s getting all fancy with VR now. They’re rolling it out for Quest, PSVR 2, and SteamVR headsets, like all the big ones. What struck me was the date – 1949? Weird, right? Anyway, maybe it’s just me getting sidetracked by numbers.
So this game popped up on PC earlier this year. Basically, you’re in charge of these tiny mechs. I know, tiny mechs, sounds kinda cute, right? But no, serious business because you’ve got to knock out the Evil Axis. Europe’s overrun by these creepy mechanical minions or something. It’s kinda like a real-life strategy game, but you’re dealing with toy-sized bots. At least, that’s how I picture it.
Now here’s the fun part—you get to pick how your mech goes to battle. You got your pilots, your gear; there’s cockpits, engines, and all sorts of bits you can slap on these mechs. Really get to pimp them out, if that’s your thing. I thought it was cool. Maybe it’s just nostalgia or whatever.
Anyway, they’ve teamed up with this other studio, nDreams, to make it VR-ready. The idea is you can literally step into this battlefield, move the mechs around, do upgrades—the whole shebang. No clue how that’s gonna feel, but if you’re into VR, might be worth checking out. Or not. Totally up to you.
Mark your calendars or don’t—August 21st is when it’s dropping. You’ll find it on all the usual stores: Horizon Store for Quest 2, PlayStation Store for that PSVR 2 support, and there’s a free Steam update if you’re on PC. Which is great if you like free stuff. Who doesn’t, right?
Anyway, that’s the scoop. Go figure how VR and tiny mechs make a pair, but I guess it’s like peanut butter and jelly for gamers.
