Sure thing, here goes nothing:

So, got a chance to chat with Sanatana Mishra from Witch Beam about this new game, Tempopo, for the Switch. Hadn’t really kept up with everything from them since, like, forever. It’s kinda surprising how much is missed if you blink, right?
Anyway, started off by saying hey and asking how things were rolling. And, you know, sometimes I forget people are out here pouring everything into these projects. Sanatana said he was pretty beat from the final push. I get it, feels like sprinting to the finish line but, in a way, satisfying after seeing it all done. Weird? Yeah.
I realize I needed to know more about Tempopo. So, I asked what it’s all about. Turns out, it’s sorta a rhythm puzzle game—that’s a thing, I guess? He described it as optimistic and warm. Sounded nice, if a bit unusual. Think Lemmings meets Chu Chu Rocket but in a more circular, musical universe. Okay? Makes everyone feel like a genius, apparently—or at least, that’s the hope.
Oh, by the way, there’s a picture here somewhere. Nothing to do with my point, but felt like mentioning it because sometimes a picture really is just a picture.
Then I got curious about how long they spent making this game. Years. Five-ish, give or take? That’s a long haul. They didn’t change much from the original idea, just kept refining. Which is kinda like trying to carve a sculpture by shaving off one flake of rock at a time. Puzzle game development isn’t for the faint-hearted. People want it perfect and their patience, I guess it’s paper thin.
Another photo slipped in here. Might be of the game but who knows.
Now, had to ask because I’m kind of a physical copy fiend. Is there going to be a boxed version of Tempopo? Apparently not. For now, anyway. Seemed like they’re winging it—if it happens, it happens kind of vibe. Zero expectations here, but hey, collectors gotta dream, right?
Yup, another image here. Probably relevant but I’m on a roll now.
Wrapping up our chat, I asked if there was anything else he’d like to sprinkle in. Turns out Sanatana just wants people to have a good time with Tempopo, maybe discover a smidge about themselves along the way. Seems genuine, you know? They’re doing what they love, sticking to their guns, and cranking out games till they physically can’t anymore.
Honestly, it’s refreshing. Passion-driven whatever. Here’s hoping Tempopo spreads some joy when people need it most.
And, probably, another image but that’s just a hunch.
