Sure thing! So there I was, thinking about the PlayStation consoles. Honestly, they’re like… known for having tons of RPGs, especially if you ignore those brown shooters from the 2000s. Yeah, Final Fantasy pops into your head first, but there’s so much more. Strategy, action, tactical RPGs—it’s all there on a PS console. Pretty neat, right?
So, if you’re diving in, check this out: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Legends of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak, Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii—geez, that’s a mouthful—and RAIDOU Remastered. All this while waiting for Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road and Super Robot Wars Y. I mean, what a time to be alive! Everything I mention is PSN-ready, so no excuses!
Now, SaGa Emerald Beyond… what even is this game? It’s like the oddball of RPGs. The combat’s a head-scratcher and the story can be quick or drag on forever, with all sorts of settings. Basically, there’s a flavor for everyone if you’re bored on a Tuesday.
Visions of Mana… oh man, there’s drama behind this team, but the game itself? Worth exploring. Combat’s slow to unfold, but eventually, it’s a blast. It just gets better and better the more you play.
And then Fuga: Melodies of Steel. It’s got depth in a world full of cuteness and kids piloting tanks. So, you can sacrifice one of the kiddos for a battle win. Brutal, right? But hey, it’s part of the Little Tail Bronx universe, so go dig for the rest if you’re curious.
Live A Live—is it niche? Doesn’t matter. Short stories, different genres, like space horror and tournaments. Two chapters at the end will blow your mind if you’re into RPGs.
Okay, Strangers Of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. Stop rolling your eyes! I get it. It had a rough start. But, hear me out—it’s a surprising gem. I snoozed it until a sale, then bam! Loved it! Solid characters and a cool spin on Final Fantasy history. Jack’s a boss character, up there with Zidane and Cloud in my book.
Moon—such an anti-RPG. If you know Toby Fox’s works, it’ll ring a bell. It’s nutty and frustrating, in a good way. Keep a walkthrough on hand. Trust me.
Kowloon High-School Chronicle… oh, those early 2000s vibes. Dungeon crawler, relationship-building, a story with some ‘hmm’ moments. But you’re in for something unique if you vibe with that era.
Now Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions, with Inazuma Eleven hovering nearby. Soccer anime RPG, where somehow, it all clicks.
Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition—here I’m breaking my rules on “niche.” It’s bizarre but so lovable. Flawed yet memorable. Kid? What a character! Just let me gush about it.
Lastly, Resonance Of Fate 4K/HD Edition. A slice of life with epic gunfights. Characters with depth, and wardrobe fun galore. It’s harsh sometimes, but oh well.
This? Just the tip of the iceberg, folks. RPGs are massive and mysterious. Can’t cover everything in one go! But seriously, got favorites I missed? Spill it in the comments!
