Oh man, where to start with this one? So, I heard this, and honestly, it kinda threw me for a loop. Bethesda, you know, the folks behind some epic RPGs, well, they’re apparently thinking of tossing Starfield onto the PS5 next year… if the whispers hold any water, that is. Seriously though, who doesn’t love a good rumor?
Anyway, there’s this buzz (I read it somewhere, maybe MP1st, I think?) about a spring 2026 release. Seems like they’re planning some big updates around then too. Maybe we’ll get that quality-of-life stuff and, of course, the second expansion. But they’re being tight-lipped at Gamescom this month. No mention of this there—though they’ve got a full plate. Like, Hollow Knight: Silksong is there and something about an ROG handheld? The ROG Xbox Ally or whatever. Sounds busy, right?
And oh, the Starfield on PS5 chatter isn’t even new. Been popping up for a while now. Xbox seems pretty chill with sharing their big games with PlayStation these days. Starfield was likely meant for all platforms until they pivoted to Xbox and PC. Makes sense they’d think about it again, especially since their games do crazy well on PlayStation. Who wouldn’t want a slice of that pie?
So… what’s the vibe? If Starfield shows up on PS5, are you in? Or maybe it’s all just talk. Let me know what you think, if you’ve got some thoughts kicking around!
