Alright, so here’s the deal with this wild ride called “Don’t Move.” It’s dropping next week on PC VR, and honestly, I don’t even know how I feel about it. I mean, imagine being a test dummy. Like, literally, that’s your job. At the Flinch Inc Dummy Testing Facility, you’re supposed to just sit tight and NOT flinch. Easier said than done, right? This thing’s rolling out on August 14, or so Steam says.
Anyway, here’s the backstory. This brainchild was cooked up by Tim Wildgoose. Yeah, the same guy from Lucasfilm who’s been knee-deep in Star Wars stuff. Seems like he cooked this up in his free time. I can’t even manage to finish a book as a side hustle, but here he is making VR games. You’re supposed to sit — or stand, if you’re feeling brave — while facing all sorts of crazy scenarios. Sounds like an epic dare or maybe just a recipe for a heart attack. Who knows?
And, oh man, the nostalgia hit me hard. Remember “Don’t Let Go!” from way back in 2013 on the Rift DK1? That thing was a trip. You sat with your hands on a keyboard, and no matter what happened — spiders, sirens, or who knows what else — you just couldn’t let go. Probably inspired this new madness.
So yeah, mark your calendars for August 14 if you’re up for the challenge. Or if you can’t wait, there’s a demo lurking on Steam. Try it out — or not. Whatever floats your boat.
