Oh man, where do I even start with this THQ Nordic 2025 Showcase stuff? It’s like they took a big bag of gaming goodness, shook it up, and just dumped it all over us. Felt like Christmas morning, if Christmas was all about video game trailers and sneak peeks. Anyway — wait, nope, gotta stay focused. So, they showed off some wild new details on a bunch of games, and I’m just tripping over where to start.
Alright, first up, we’ve got something creepy-cool from the folks who gave us Little Nightmares. New game in town, goes by “Reanimal” — catchy, right? The trailer has these orphaned siblings, some new monsters, and like, even new friends? Not sure how friends fit in a horror game, but hey, I’m no expert. Plus, you can scare your pants off with others in multiplayer. Never thought sharing fear could be so… socially acceptable?
Now, switching gears like my brain on a caffeine high, they mentioned SpongeBob in some Titans of the Tide adventure. Yeah, you read that right. Soundtrack’s got David Hasselhoff, and I can’t decide if that’s epic or weird. Maybe both. Anyway — oh yeah, you can play as SpongeBob or Patrick. Folks have been begging for that forever, and it’s finally happening. Preorder bonuses, DLCs, blah blah. You collect SpongeBob stuff? You’ll dig this Ghostly Edition deal.
Okay, so Gothic. Classic RPG, getting a fancy remake. Whoever’s behind this one at Alkimia Interactive is probably having the time of their life right now. There’s even a demo out — like, today. Right now. Get your nostalgia hats on and dive back into the Valley of Mines or something. No spoilers though! Fast forward to 2026, you can relive the classics on PS5. Yep, 2026. Can’t believe we’re planning that far ahead.
Then there’s this game called The Eternal Life of Goldman. Platformer vibes, kinda vibrant yet dark? Is that a thing? Anyway, it’s full of surprises, and our guy Goldman’s leaving quite the mess behind. Sounds like a challenge, needing precision and all. Platform-style gameplay, with a story that’s deeper than I’d expect. Sort of like life — full of unexpected depth, or maybe it’s just complicated. Who even knows?
Oh, and Tides of Tomorrow by Digixart. Now it got me with its ‘asynchronous gameplay.’ Not sure what that actually means, but it sounds like it could be game-changing (literally). Decision-making affects the game world and all its inhabitants. Post-apocalyptic and all colorful? My mind’s eye is having a hard time putting those together, but props to them for trying something new.
And let’s not forget — the Wreckfest sequel. This one’s a favorite stress buster. It’s coming with all that car-crashing, no-holds-barred fun. Keep your eyes peeled for 2026. Can we even wait that long? The crash physics were always fun. Drove hard to die last, or something like that, right?
Another sequel sneaking its way in is Titan Quest II. Ancient mythology, without the classes. Mix and match your hero’s skills. Face off against legendary monsters and gods. Just the usual day in ancient Greece. This one’s got the epic adventure feel — like you just might need a hero’s bravery to take it on.
Last but definitely not the least? Wreckreation! Takes me back to those Burnout days, but with more freedom. Even lets you design your track — race a car over a dinosaur’s head? Dreams are real, folks. Wacky as it sounds, I bet it’ll be a blast. Keep an eye out for it later this year. And before I forget: Gamescom’s on the horizon, where you can get a taste (not literally) of these awesome games. See you there? If not, let’s chat again sometime.
