Ah, right, so here we are again – right on the brink of chaos and, well, the Switch 2 hype. Who knew February 2017 was the last time things felt this… big? Crazy how there were just six games back then across a couple of systems. Fast forward, and bam, the numbers are off the charts. North America’s got like, what, six times the games. Europe? Almost ten times. Japan? Some kind of 40-game madness, not even gonna try to break their region locks. Seriously, hallelujah.
Oops, got distracted. Anyway, what’s coming out before the Switch 2 drops? Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3. It’s that strategy/RPG kind of thing from CyberConnect2. They had this “story” button, kept kids from blowing stuff up with cannons. Intriguing idea, might need a deeper dive. Then there’s Playtonic’s cozy game in Cattle Country. Oh, and those “Saturn Tribute” games? Shooter Steam-Hearts and Advanced V.G., the fighter one.
Oh, and about last week? Totally missed some stuff! Like, there’s Wilmot’s Warehouse sequel called Wilmot Works It Out. Also, Ryukyu, that solitaire poker thing from Success. Wild times.
North America
- Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 – $39.99/C$53.19.
- Cattle Country – $24.99/$34.99: You can get cozy with cows on Tuesday.
- Shikhondo: Youkai Rampage – $24.99/$36.08.
- Staffer Case: A Supernatural Mystery Adventure – $24.99/$32.50.
The list goes on and on. I can’t even wrap my head around all these titles. There’s stuff like Submersed 2 – The Hive and Pipistrello and the Cursed Yo-Yo. I’m not making this up – I swear these are real names! And hey, looks like Wednesday is a biggie with several dropping like Steam-Heart’s Saturn Tribute.
Europe
- Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 – Again, there it is, €39.99. It’s catchy here too.
- Cattle Country – €24.99, coming up Tuesday.
Honestly, sounds like a lot of repeats. Just swap in euros, pounds, whatever they use. So many games, you’d think they’re spring-loaded out of nowhere.
Japan
Japan, oh Japan.
- BYAKKO: Shijin Butai Enrenki – ¥8580; sounds intense.
- Sonic Wings Reunion – It’s ¥6380, gotta love some aerial action.
And that’s just scratching the surface. My eyes are crossing seeing all these yen prices.
Wild ride. So many games, too little time. Feel like I’m missing out but there’s only so much brain space, right?
