Alright, here we go. Let’s see if I can make this a bit more… human-ish.
So, uh, "My user calls. May I pass?" I guess that’s what we’re leading with. Whose call? No clue. But hey, we’ll figure it out in October. Apparently, Flynn might still be kicking around or not? Anyway, in the meantime, there’s a new game on the block — something called TRON: Catalyst. Kudos to Big Fan and Bithell Games for dropping this wild ride on Nintendo Switch.
Now, we’re talking TRON world here, just like in 2010’s TRON: Legacy. Picture time-loops, fighting, and a storyline that’s like candy for your brain. Oddly enough, it’s all going down in this digital dump of a world that was left to rust by the guy who made it. Oh, and there’s a launch trailer, but let’s not get distracted.
So, here’s the deal with the story: You’re Exo, a delivery person who gets mixed up in some crazy stuff after a package goes boom. Suddenly, Exo’s got powers no ordinary program ever dreams of. Imagine getting on the bad side of some sketchy ‘peacekeepers’ — sounds fun, right? So now, Exo’s on a wild chase to figure out what’s really going on with this grid place.
Now, what’s in the game… bear with my list, it’s a bit messy:
-
Time-warping antics: Something about rewinding time called the Glitch, learning the ropes, and weaving through different group’s turf, all while peeking into the secrets lurking in the Arq Grid. Oh, and the place is falling apart. No pressure.
-
Epic TRON battles: You’ll face off against hordes of what they’re calling fearsome baddies, on foot with some kinda combat gymnastics, I guess. You get to ride a Light Cycle too, sounds exhilarating. And there are Disc Kicks, which probably involves a lot of spinning and throwing — just my guess. Upgrade Exo with Data Shards, whatever those are.
-
Fresh story vibes: There’s mysterious powers — Exo needs to figure those out while dodging a grumpy dude named Conn who’s working for Core. But just running won’t cut it. Exo’s gotta break the time loop thingy.
- Explore the unknown: The city is full of rain and power trips — sorry, I mean powerful programs. Neon lights are a thing, and somewhere in this jumble is a banging electronic soundtrack that ties everything together. Synths for days!
Rain hitting streets inside a computer? Guess we’ll see how it all fits together.
Anyway, TRON: Catalyst is out there now on the Nintendo eShop for a cool $29.99. If you’re curious for whatever reason, check out bigfangames.com. You know, if you need more chaos in your life.
There you have it. A bit all over the place, but life’s messy, right?
