Y’know, I’ve actually rubbed elbows with Phil Spencer once—over some drinks, no less. And, uh, I’m pretty sure I left a sour taste ’cause it feels like Xbox has a vendetta against me. Seriously, Xbox Games Showcase 2025 skipped out on some titles I was itching to see. Okay, that might be a bit dramatic—but hey, some of the stuff I expected didn’t make the cut. So, just saying.
Anyway, let’s just vent a little ’cause why not?
Honorable mention — Hollow Knight: Silksong
Now, Silksong. I know folks have been buzzing like bees in a hive over this, but here’s the kicker—I don’t get the hype. I’d challenge the sun before I dive into this one. Yeah, I know, unpopular opinion.
But props to it—it’s become the ultimate video game tease. Every event it dodges adds to the legend. Summer Game Fest just fanned the flames, and then at the Xbox event, bam—it’s part of the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally gaming handheld talk. What? No trailer, but yeah, news did trickle out afterward.
5. Everwild
Everwild? Heck, I’m excited, but do I even know what it is? Nope, not a clue. It’s like vapor—a rumor swirling around for eons. Sea of Thieves didn’t win my heart, so I’m banking on Everwild to give Rare a nudge back to its glory days.
It got announced back in 2019, and I’ve been squinting in its direction ever since. Give us something, guys. Was hoping for an update at the showcase to remind everyone it exists, ya know?
4. Fable
Oh, Fable. Playground Games got the keys to this ride, and I’m hoping they don’t crash it. I mean, Forza Horizon rocks my socks, so fingers crossed they do Fable justice.
Heard it got delayed, so not shocked it skipped this showcase, but my heart still sank a little. Phil Spencer’s hinting at a 2026 release, which feels forever away, but hey, gotta keep the faith.
3. REPLACED
Now, REPLACED has my eyeballs glued. Not even Xbox Game Studios material, but my gosh, this pixel art is stunning. Got my paws on a snippet of it, and I can’t stop drooling.
And it’s waltzing straight into Xbox Game Pass. Told you, it’s a looker. Can’t wait to dive in—Xbox, hurry up.
2. Forza Horizon 6
Forza Horizon 5? Loved it. Reviewed it. Some of my top-rated moments right there. FH6 didn’t show this time, and the Japan rumors have me on the edge of my seat.
Bring it on, Playground. Show us what that revamped ForzaTech can do. My gaming setup’s crying for a new breathtaking adventure behind the wheel.
1. State of Decay 3
Last but def not least, State of Decay 3. I’m practically a zombie myself waiting for this—no, really, I didn’t get bitten or anything. Loved State of Decay 2 in co-op, so this is up there on my wishlist.
Heard a bit last year, but… crickets at the showcase. Come on, Undead Labs—give me something. Hoping they take their time to make it a killer game. But, please, do it before I start sporting a faux zombie shuffle.
