From what was once a quiet, dusty Ghost Town to a bustling hub of Virtual Skate excitement, Steam Next Fest is kicking off with more than 30 PC VR games. Seriously, what’s not to love? I mean, we’ve already talked about some of these games—Ghost Town, that intriguing Of Lies and Rain, Don’t Move (which, honestly, made me want to move more than ever), and the strangely satisfying Puzzling Places. But now—the whole shebang!
Highlights before the fest officially opened? RAGER caught my eye, for no other reason than the name screams chaotic fun. Then there’s Virtual Skate, where I embarrass myself pretending to be Tony Hawk (minus any actual skill), and Ultima Chess, which makes me feel way smarter than I am. Oh, and Retronika, which is… well, retro and cool—no other way to put it. Almost forgot—Whispers of the Void got a demo update. Will it whisper sweet nothings or existential truths? Who knows?
Heads up: the info dump came from Valve last month, so, who knows, maybe some games decided they’d rather take a coffee break than participate. And yeah, expect sneaky demos showing up that decide to be lone wolves, not joining the fest officially. If things change, we’ll shuffle the deck a bit.
Anyway, here’s the complete run of what we’ve spotted. Steam Next Fest keeps the doors open until June 16, 2025, packing up at 10am PT. So, dive in, nosedive, whatever floats your gaming boat!
