Take-Two Interactive recently hinted at their plans to back the Nintendo Switch 2, even though they’re not spilling all the beans just yet.
For those familiar with the gaming scene, Take-Two has been a strong ally of the original Switch. They’ve rolled out a variety of titles like BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, XCOM 2 Collection, and Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. They’ve also brought us New Tales from the Borderlands, LEGO 2K Drive, and the more recent NBA 2K25 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.
Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, shared some insights during their Q3 2025 earnings call: “Our history with Nintendo goes way back. We’ve supported their platforms when the timing was spot on for a particular game. There was a phase when Nintendo was all about the younger crowd, and that shaped the kind of games we released.” He continued, “Today, the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2 aim to cater to diverse audiences. As you might have noticed, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is now on Switch. While there’s nothing specific to reveal just yet, we fully intend to back the Switch 2.”
For those eager to dive into more details about Nintendo’s upcoming console, tune into the Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation. It’s set to stream at 6 am PT / 9 am ET / 2 pm BST / 3 pm CEST on Wednesday, April 2.
The global launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 is slated for 2025, although we’re still on standby for the exact release date.
