Sure thing, but before we dive in, here’s a reminder: authenticity and originality will be the name of the game here, so don’t expect this to be polished or perfectly structured. Here we go.

So, uh, guess what? The Pokémon Company International just decided to throw a curveball at us with their latest Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket expansion. It’s all happening next week—mark July 30, 2025, on your calendar or just set a reminder on your phone. (Do people still use paper calendars? Anyway.)
We’re talking a flashback to the Johto region. Remember Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile? Yeah, those old friends from Pokémon Gold and Silver are making a comeback. And not just them—Lugia and Ho-Oh are swooping in too. I mean, is it even a Pokémon event without some legendary flair?
But here’s the kicker: this expansion will bring Pokémon that attack without needing energy. Like what? Are we breaking the rules now or something? Probably a game-changer for those who like to think outside the box with their decks. Not that I ever do. I mean, maybe sometimes.
Oh, speaking of changes, they’ve overhauled the Trade feature—word on the street is there’s a Wishlist now. Yeah, you can make a list of cards you dream about and share it with everyone. Up to 20 cards, no more. And you can flaunt three favorites right on your profile. Sharing is caring, I guess?
And just when I thought I understood the trade system, they’re ditching trade tokens—gone, poof! Instead, they’ll use something called shinedust for trading rare cards. Collect it by finishing missions or hoarding duplicates… or something. And no more swapping cards for tokens after the update hits. So, kiss those tokens goodbye before Wednesday rolls around, if you want anything out of it.
Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is up for grabs on the App Store and Google Play if you somehow missed the memo. Are people playing it on tablets? Probably. But really, who has the time to play on anything larger than their phone these days? Just me? Alright then.
Apparently, there’s also a trailer out there. Didn’t watch it myself, but hey, it might be fun? Who knows.
