Alright, so here’s the thing: That new GTA 6 trailer… wow. Just wow. Rockstar’s been busy bragging about numbers to The Hollywood Reporter, and honestly, I can’t blame them. They hit 475 million views on day one. I mean, who wouldn’t shout that from the rooftops?
So, yeah, those numbers look like they’re from another planet, right? And get this, the first trailer pulled in 93 million views in 24 hours, back in ’23. But that was only on YouTube. Maybe that’s why it seemed smaller? I dunno.
Oh, and as I write this, trailer two’s at 84 million on just YouTube. Still trailing behind the 255 million views of trailer one, but give it time. The comment section, though? Already halfway there at 437,000. Seems like everyone’s in awe.
And here’s a funny bit — Spotify streams of a Pointer Sisters’ song (‘Hot Together,’ if you’re curious) just skyrocketed by 182,000% because of the trailer. Last time, it was Tom Petty. Music and GTA? A match made in heaven, apparently.
Rockstar says the trailer was captured on a PS5. All those jaw-dropping scenes you see? Yup, real in-game footage. At least, if your machine can handle it. Some ex-Rockstar guy is convinced the game’s gonna be worth every penny. Maybe he’s onto something. Or maybe it’s just the lighting. Who knows?
Anyway, can’t wait to see more. And maybe discover what song’s next to hit the stratosphere.
