The big Honkai: Star Rail shindig, it’s like, version 3.4 — you know, just happened. Everything’s always on time with these guys. Folks, as usual, were buzzing about those new characters. Yeah, what else is new, right? Anyway, they introduced ’em — all shiny and ready for their RPG debut.
So, here’s what really grabbed everyone — the Fate/stay night crossover. It’s about time too! They first teased this mix-up with that classic visual novel almost a year ago. Long story short, they’ve been cooking this one slowly. Now, 10 months later, the dish is (almost) served.
Alright, the new faces are pretty much the stars of the show. Classic Fate peeps like Saber — she’s this 5-Star Wind something or other — and Archer’s popping in too. Archer’s free, by the way, if you log in during the collab. And yeah, they’re letting these characters hang around way longer than usual. From 3.4 to 3.6, or something like that. November-ish, if I’m remembering right.
Then there’s Phainon. You know him? The NPC who’s been loitering since version 3.0? Finally, he gets to be more than background scenery — playable and all. Oh, and he’s a 5-Star too, using a Physical/Destruction kit! These collab characters aren’t following the standard routine. They’re all dropping in Phase 1, FYI.
Oh, and get this, there are six — yup, you heard right, six — rerun banners happening. Some old faves like Tribbie and Sunday are back for a stint (Phase 1), and then Firefly and Blade show up in Phase 2. No new peeps in the latter half this time, but honestly, who’s complaining with all this action?
Plus, everyone’s gotta love Stellaron Hunters, right? They’re getting even cooler in V3.4. Kafka, Silver Wolf, Blade — they’re leveling up with some tweaks in battle mechanics and Eidolon effects. Plus, new digs for Firefly. Jingliu’s also getting some love. Don’t even know if she’s switching sides and joining Elio’s crew — but wouldn’t that be wild?
Mark your calendars! July 2nd — that’s when version 3.4 hits. Then July 23rd for the second banner phase. If you missed it live, the whole shebang’s recorded below.
And oh, a little throwback. Back in May, when version 3.3 dropped, we got Hyacine and the long-lost Herta making a cameo. And later, they added Cipher with some oldies returning.
Oh, almost forgot — the whole voice actor drama. The English voices for the main gang — Stelle and Caelus — got switched up. It’s got to do with some big strike news — SAG-AFTRA and something about a deal with studios. A couple of other big names caught up in this mess too, like Dan Heng and Himeko. Let’s see how it all shakes out.
